Happy HUMP Day! Half way there people!

This is a very gloomy Wednesday here in Jersey. Straight out of a Harry Potter movie!! Which I kind of love..shhhhhh. :)


I haven’t been feeling wonderful but I had to blog today! I have a bit of great news on the injury front. In case you’re curious, I have an MCL sprain, go HERE if you you would like to know more.  My Doctor has officially cleared me to begin training again. WOOHOO! Though still painful, my knee is now stable. I’ve been advised not to lift heavy, leg training is minimal, no twisting or turning movements. Haha but at least I can get in there!


Back to the gym sneakers! :)

So here is my confession. I’m actually kind of scared to start training again. 3 months is the longest span of time I’ve ever gone without serious lifting. Physical therapy has been my saving grace but stepping into the gym has mixed feelings for me. My heart is happy but my muscles are NERVOUS!!

How do I plan to tackle my fears!? By Keeping It Simple. It’s time for Back to Basics. I’ve decided to think about my training as a starting from scratch moment. Whenever someone is recovering from an injury or just discovering the gym for the first time, basic moves are always beneficial. They never go out of style!! This week I’ll post my 3 days of my Back to Basics workouts.  ANYONE can follow along. We’re not going to let our nerves stop us from getting STRONGER!! :)

    Oh girl I can -definitely- relate to being nervous to jumping in to training again. I snowboard and had to take a few years off thanks to a serious knee injury, and was terrified of jumping back into it. Just take things slow. Like you said… keeping it simple and starting from basics is the best way to go, and your body will let you know how it’s feeling. Keeping my fingers crossed for you, lovely!

      Wow! I had no idea you had a knee injury. I’m glad you’re feeling better and snowboarding like a boss. :) Yea, I worked out the other day with a simple 6 exercise workout and felt pretty good. Sloooooooow and steady!

    I love Harry Potter as well! Congrats on the clearance!
    I recently had a fresh start at the beginning of this year! I had to take quite some time off from previous injuries, and did I feel intimidated at the gym! I started with the basics and I’m slowly working my way up. You can do it! You’re strong! :)

    So happy to hear this lovely! I can totally relate to the nerves about coming back after an injury but you are being so smart about it. Take it slow and try not to be hard on yourself because you likely won’t be at full force :) I know you’ll come back out of this stronger though!
    ps. Scene from HP?! I’ll be heading to Jersey asap then!

      Thanks Amy! After a few really basic workouts I can see I’ve lost some strength but slow and steady will get me back. Oh and come on down to Jersey! lol Seriously, I felt like I was walking down to Hagrid’s house! :)
